These pieces have found their new home! I’m so happy and grateful that they’ll receive more attention and love, and begin their journey out of my studio and into the world. When it comes to abstract art, I feel people either LOVE it or it’s a hard NOPE. That’s what made the last two days even more special, as I got to hang out with my kind of people 😊. [ Sold ] Another scale-up! I just finished this 30 x 36” abstract painting. In the middle stage, I tried to force it to be a botanical, but it wanted to flow. I often can’t pinpoint exactly where my inspiration comes from when I paint. It’s just a combination of many things I have experienced and felt. This 24x30” painting is the largest canvas I’ve finished so far. It was definitely a challenge to scale up since I used to work on small surfaces. After 1000 tweaks and transforming it, I learned that I shouldn’t be too obsessed with one painting. Ha~ I could have made 10 paintings out of this 🥲. I rarely use a sketchbook but love using loose paper. Since I worked mainly on paper for the first 3 years, I had to figure out a storage system. Now I have many file binders filled with interesting pictures.😚 It’s like a visual diary/sketchbook alternative. These are some old ones somewhat different than my current work.
